Natomas resident Daniel Ray Kirk was arrested today for multiple counts of lewd acts and molesting a child.

The teenage victim reported 42-year-old Kirk, a family member, had sexually assaulted him multiple times over the past four years, according to a press release issued by the Sacramento Police Dept.

Police said at least one assault is believed to have occurred within the Sacramento city limits and other incidents may have occurred while the victim and Kirk were together in another jurisdiction.

Kirk was taken into custody today after a warrant was issued by the Sacramento County District Attorney’s office. He was booked into the Sacramento County Jail on charges of felony lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14 and felony molest of a child under 18. His bail has been set at $200,000.

“North Natomas Little League is shocked and deeply saddened by the arrest of Daniel Kirk,” read a statement e-mailed to families of Little League participants.

Kirk, who was a North Natomas Little League board member and who managed one of its baseball teams, is said to have resigned from his post earlier in the week after the alleged sexual assault was first reported to police.

Police said they are looking for any possible additional victims who may have had inappropriate contact with Kirk.
