Cops Bust Illegal Marijuana Grow

Sacramento police have arrested a suspect in connection with an illegal marijuana grow house in Natomas.

On Saturday, Nov. 10 at about 6:05 p.m. officers responded to reports by neighbors of a suspicious smell coming from a house on the 2900 block of Myotis Drive in the Witter Ranch neighborhood.

Upon checking the residence, police discovered an estimated 750 marijuana plants were growing inside and that the occupant was stealing electricity to run the grow house.

“It was a major illegal indoor pot grow,” Vice Mayor Angelique Ashby said. “One the police could never have found without help from alert neighbors.”

The suspect was arrested and booked in Sacramento County Jail on suspicion of cultivating marijuana and theft of utilities.

“It isn’t our first and won’t be our last, but this is how we seek them out and get people arrested and removed from our neighborhoods,” Ashby added. “As always, I am proud of Natomas residents quick to take action, alert and engaged – it makes all the difference in the world.”
