Former Natomas star football player Jakori Ford had surgery to repair his left knee on Tuesday.

Ford injured his knee during a celebration on the sideline last Friday, Sept. 7 after scoring a first quarter rushing touchdown for American River College.

Ford, who led the Nighthawks in passing and rushing yards in 2010, was second on the team this season as a freshman for ARC this season with 70 yards and two rushing touchdowns.

After lying on the ground for nearly 20 minutes, Ford was taken to UC Davis Medical Center where he has remained.

Ford says he does not regret the celebration and despite knowing it will be tough to return to the football field, added he is “going to try and come back.”
