Sac PD SWAT officers descended on Brynmar Court in North Natomas this morning after neighbors and construction workers reported hearing a loud “bang” resembling the sound of a gunshot.
According to a witness, area residents took their children inside and awaited officers who were on the scene within 5 to 10 minutes of a 911 call at 9:46 a.m.
Police confirmed all residents of the home were accounted for by telephone. They found no evidence of gunfire or of a crime being committed after being let into the home by a woman who lives there.
Sac PD Sgt. Norm Leong said media reports someone was barricaded in the home were untrue. Leong added one resident seen leaving the home earlier reported his car had “backfired,” possibly accounting for the noise heard by others.
