In The News: Natomas Sam’s Club To Close

Channel 13 is reporting Sam’s Club will close its store on North Freeway effective Jan. 22.
This news comes as quite a blow to the Sacramento Gateway shopping complex which previously lost anchor store Linens N Things.

It also appears the Relax The Back Store has also closed up shop.

  1. wow…this is terrible news.

Wow. The hits just keep on coming. I know I try to “Shop Natomas” instead of ordering things online. Remember – shopping locally keeps jobs (and stores/restaurants) in Natomas!

  3. I just can’t believe this. I love our Sam’s Club. They had everything our family needed out of a store like this and their location was so convenient. I am so sad to see it go.

  4. seriously…what could possibly go in that location. It would have to be a Costco or another huge supermarket type store. I dont see Walmart opening a super center there…they have a store right across the street. I would love to see a Costco in there. I loved this Sams because it was just soo darned convenient. But yes, it NEVER seemed busy. I wish those employees well, They were all so incredibly friendly and helpful.

  5. I am soooooo sad about this! I love running into sams club and also sams gas1

  7. The news just keeps getting worse for Natomas.

Why don’t these companies ever give the community a chance to help before closing doors? Sam’s should have told the community months ago that it was struggling, it MIGHT have helped draw more customers and help their bottom line. Instead they did a Borders and just closed up shop one day without any notice. Very sad.

    Sorry about this, Natomas :(

  8. I agree with Mark’s comments. This community does rally when needed. It would have been nice to give us a shot at saving the store.

  9. I guess its back to Costco

  10. If you walk into a store and it’s never busy, it’s probably going to close.

    Just sayin’

Natomas shopping plazas are headed for being abandoned eyesores because we can’t and don’t support local business to a degree to sustain them. That’s the bottom line.

And, Trader Joe’s isn’t likely to come here no matter how much you want them to based on that fact.
