Helping Our Kids Make Better Choices

Natomas Unified School District school board trustee Lisa Kaplan sent us the following and we felt it was worth sharing:

Hello Community Members:

You ask, and together we can deliver. I would like to report to you that just recently the program “Driving it Home” was presented over 2 days by Misty Dailey to Natomas High School. Over 700 students attended the presentation, of which this is the 3rd time in 2 years where she has presented to our students the dangers of street racing. On receiving feed back from our automotive tech teacher at NHS, he indicated that the presentation made a huge impact on the kids. Let’s hope it will make them think twice before racing on our streets.

The program is also scheduled to be heard at:

  • Natomas Pacific Pathways Prep (NP3) – December 1, 2008
  • Natomas Charter – January 20, 2009
  • Inderkum H.S. – TBA

Per information I received from Susan, here is the link to the latest press the program has been receiving in the Sacramento Bee:

Thank you for being an active community, where together we can make a difference in our community and for our kids.

All my best,
Lisa Kaplan
Trustee,
