Flood Insurance Knock & Talks Coming to Natomas

Volunteers Needed

The City of Sacramento will be going door to door in Natomas neighborhoods on Saturday, Sept. 6 and Sept. 20 to encourage Natomas residents to purchase their flood insurance early.

Homes in the targeted areas, specifically around the Gardenland/Northgate, Valley View Acres and other South Natomas neighborhood built before Sept. 15, 1978, will be subject to a higher insurance rate when the flood insurance requirement goes into effect on Dec. 8, 2008.

However if those residents purchase a PRP (Approx $347), they will be granted the same insurance rate as other homes in Natomas when they go to renew in 2009 (average of $768 versus $1,145 for the same coverage each year).

We will be meeting at the South Natomas Community Center at 9 a.m. both Saturdays to do a refresher training and distribute assignments. We provide scripts and materials for you to use.

We still need volunteers! Please share this information with your neighbors and encourage them to come spend some time with us on both days. Even an hour will help us help your neighbors to save money while meeting their flood insurance requirements.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions! We look forward to meeting and working with you all over the next few weeks!

Sincerely,
