According to Sacramento Police Department Captain Jeff Schiele, “Preliminarily it looks like auto theft and auto burglaries (related offenses) were the top reported crimes by Natomas residents. However, there was a 12% reduction in auto thefts from the previous year, and a 15% reduction in auto burglaries. The only reported crime to increase was residential burglaries, which saw a 33% increase from the previous year.”
In early 2008 six new patrol officers will be assigned to Natomas bringing the number up to 41. Let’s hope this boost helps cut down on crime.
The good news? Suspects in the Bel Air Aisle One armed robbery have been arrested!
