Police Seek Public’s Help with Stabbing Investigation

Sacramento Police detectives are investigating a suspicious death which they have determined to be a homicide.

On Monday, Jan. 27 at about 2:10 a.m. patrol officers responded to the bike trail near Del Paso Boulevard and Northgate Boulevard on reports that a passerby had located a body.

When officers arrived on scene they found a deceased female adult. Detectives, crime scene investigators, and the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office investigated. Upon examination of the body, detectives determined that the woman had been stabbed.

Detectives said they have conducted a thorough canvass of the area and are seeking the community’s help with information about this incident. The investigation is ongoing.

The victim’s identity will be released after next of kin have been notified.
