How to help trees thrive during a drought will be the topic of a free, community workshop this Saturday in Natomas.

The workshop is set for 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and will be held at Stanford Settlement which is located at 450 W. El Camino Avenue.

Councilman Jeff Harris, who represents East Sacramento and most of South Natomas on the Sacramento City Council, is hosting a series of sessions throughout District 3 with the Sacramento Tree Foundation to educate neighbors how keep trees healthy during the drought, while still conserving water.

This weekend’s workshop is also being co-hosted by the Gardenland Northgate Neighborhood Association.

Attendees are encouraged to bring photographs of their trees to the meeting. There, specialists will help identify trees and provide specific tips on how to care for them during the drought.

Registration for the event is recommended. Click here to register.
