Two Rivers Elementary School seeks an artist to paint a mural at the South Natomas campus.

School leaders would like an image which includes the school’s mascot – the otter – as well as its diversity.

The canvass for the 20-foot by 20-foot mural is a wall behind an outdoor stage on the K-12 campus which is located at 3201 West River Drive.

“It’s the first thing people see when they walk on campus,” said Rachel Perry, PTA president. “So we are very excited to add some personal touch to it.”

A color sketch of the artwork will be required for consideration by the school principal, PTA members and Natomas Unified School District officials.

The deadline to apply and submit a sketch is June 26.

Perry said the artwork should be completed between July and August.

All materials, including paint will be provided by the PTA. The PTA will also pay an artist stipend of up to $1,000 depending on the scope of the project selected, Perry said.
