A new Smart & Final store is slated to open in Natomas.
The grocery retailer will be located on the 3300 block of Northgate Boulevard, in a space which had been occupied by Fresh & Easy for years but was never opened.
The warehouse-format store is a low-cost source for cooking and cleaning needs for both food service providers and households.
Fresh & Easy had outfitted the building with shelves and other fixtures such as shopping baskets. After years of delays, the retailer announced it would sell some of its stores and close others, packing up the Northgate site and one on Del Paso Road in September 2013.
Smart & Final Stores Inc. is headquartered in Los Angeles, where it was started 140 years ago. The company operates approximately 250 grocery and foodservice stores under the “Smart & Final”, “Smart & Final Extra!” and “Cash&Carry Smart Foodservice” banners in California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Nevada, Idaho and northern Mexico.
