The parents of an infant girl found dead in a Natomas home have been arrested.

Sacramento Police Department today arrested Anthony Mial, 57, and Felecia Williams, 36, on suspicion of felony child endangerment related to the death of their 3-month-old infant, Anthoniece Mial.

At about 2:38 p.m. on Feb. 15, police officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of Hawk Avenue to a report of an infant not breathing. Officers rushed to the home, along with the Sacramento Fire Department, who declared the 3-month-old child deceased at the scene.

Homicide detectives were called to the scene because the specific circumstances surrounding the child’s death were not immediately clear. CSI also responded to help with documenting the scene.

According to police, the investigation has since revealed that both parents had narcotics in their systems at the time of the incident. It is believed both parents had used narcotics the night before and into the early morning hours of Feb. 15, police said.

Police said the victim’s father reportedly awoke to find Anthoniece unresponsive and not breathing. The child had been in bed next to her sleeping mother, where all three spent the night.

A specific cause of death is pending completion of the coroner’s investigation, but police said it is believed the child was dead several hours prior to her discovery.

The Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office issued warrants for the arrest of both Mial and William on Feb. 26. Today, Feb. 27, both were taken into police custody at a residence in the 500 block of Lindsey Avenue and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail.
