The new FoodMaxx store in Natomas will have a soft opening on Monday, Sept. 30.

In May, Save Mart announced it would convert the Truxel Road store to its discount format.

A representative at the store said FoodMaxx will carry fewer product lines, but will offer lower prices than its Save Mart counterpart.

The store is currently operating on reduced hours due to light construction which is part of the switch.

Save Mart is located at 3291 Truxel Road.

The store is scheduled to close 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 29 and re-open as FoodMaxx at 6 a.m. the following morning.

I AM GONNA MISS THAT STORE.. BEEN SHOPPING THERE FOREVER

  2. SanDiegoSacramento says

That’s unfortunate. The store was frequented by a pretty “run-down” clientele, in general. Now, it will just get worse.

  3. I guess that makes sense. A Food Maxx fits the clientele there, even though SaveMart is pretty terrible too.
