A man has been arrested on suspicion of DUI following a multi-vehicle crash last night on Interstate 80.

The accident occurred at about 10:24 p.m. Wednesday, July 17 on westbound I-80, just east of Northgate Boulevard, according to California Highway Patrol spokesperson Lizz Dutton.

Jason Bryan Fong was reportedly driving about 70 mph when he looked down at his radio and then looked up, seeing brake lights, Dutton said.

Fong’s Toyota Scion then swerved and sideswiped a BMW which lost control and hit an SUV. The SUV then struck the center median.

The driver of the SUV and two passengers were transported to the UC Davis Medical Center as a precautionary measure and no other injuries were reported, Dutton said.

Fong, 28, was arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Jail for driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and driving with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit.
