Two Natomas residents, who both participated in and finished running the Boston Marathon today, are safe.

Juei “Ray” Chang, his wife Lynn, and their daughter were in their room at a Boston-area hotel at the time two explosions rocked the area near the marathon finish line, according to a neighbor who received a text message from the family a short time ago.

Chung’s family had planned to view the race near the explosion site, but their plans apparently changed, the source said. All three are safe.

Bridgette Stegall reports her husband, Brandon, also finished the race before the explosions occurred at about 3 p.m. EST.

“(The) city on lock down right now,” Stegall wrote THE NATOMAS BUZZ via social media. “I was standing two blocks away from explosions. Sad for the injured and dead.”

Media reports indicate two died and more than 100 were injured as a result of the blasts. Details about additional detonations and possible incendiary devices is still being investigated.
