ICE Salon & Spa raised $1,800 during an Autism Cut-A-Thon event held over the weekend in Natomas.

Owner Andrea Brandon said the fundraiser surpassed her original $1,000 goal thanks to those who turned out for hair cuts and other services.

“It was a great success!” Brandon posted on her business’ Facebook page. “… enough for each ACE camper to get a $100 scholarship this year.”

The event was made possible by a half dozen volunteers and donations by several area businesses including Davines, Comfort Zone, Glo Minerals, Joshua Dee Portraits, Pete’s Restaurant and Brewhouse, Jacks Urban Eats, Starbucks Coffee, Five Guys Famous Burgers and Fries, Mr. Pops Popcorn and Village Express Donuts.

“Last but not least, this event wouldn’t have been possible without the extreme generosity of our wonderful employees, who helped prepare and set up for the event and donated their professional services throughout the day,” Brandon wrote. “We appreciate all of you!”
