Natomas High School will host its annual Multicultural Night/Open House event this Wednesday, Jan. 23.

The Nighthawk extravaganza will include 15 multicultural performances, food from around the world and Natomas High staff-hosted booths for each department and program.

The event runs 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Natomas High main gym and is open to the public. (An incoming 8th grade parent Q & A session will be held 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the school theater.)

Event goers will be treated to everything from Folklorico Dancing to the engineering program’s VEX Robotics demonstration. There will be Digital Photo Booth from the school’s Digital Media Professions House, the College board Certified Advanced Placement Team will display all 16 course offerings, and the Health Professions students will demonstrate CPR.

Various club booths will sell items to raise money including Asian Club, ME.SA, Christian Club and Latinos Unidos. Performances will include the Aztec Dancers, Asian Club and cheerleaders.

Multicultural Night is one of Natomas High’s most popular events. In 2009, the campus was named the second most diverse school in the United States by the New York Times.

Natomas High School is located at 3301 Fong Ranch Road, off Truxel Road, in Natomas.
