Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Investigators are investigating the deaths of a couple found this morning in the Creekside neighborhood of Natomas.

The Sacramento Police Dept. got the call at about 8:42 a.m. Sunday from a person who had not heard from a family member since Friday, Sept. 14.

Police officers met family at a home on the 2900 block of Holdrege Way for a welfare check. After the home was cleared, the bodies of a man in his 30s and woman in her 20s were discovered.

Today’s incident marks the second couple found dead together in less than a week in Sacramento.

It appears the boyfriend and girlfriend police found this morning, died as the result of gunshot wounds. Police spokesperson Michele Gigante said a gun was found at the scene and that no suspects are currently being sought.

The deaths, Gigante said, appear to be the result of an isolated incident. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office is assisting in the investigation and notifying next of kin prior to identification release of the deceased.

On Wednesday, Sept. 12 the bodies of a man and woman were found in a Colonial Heights home on the 5100 block of 15th Avenue. Police said that couple died as the result of an apparent murder-suicide.
