Murder Victim ID’d As Natomas Man

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim of last night’s homicide as Tralane Thomas of Natomas.

Thomas, 19, died after suffering multiple gunshot wounds Monday evening on Bicentennial Circle in Sacramento.

News of Thomas’ violent death shocked the Natomas community where he grew up. Thomas’ friends took their grief online, posting messages to each other and Thomas’ family via Facebook and Twitter:

I’m loving seeing all the good memories of Tre Thomas:) keep em comin he may be gone but the memories will last forever
Tre bro we gunna miss yuu.. look after us #RIP Tre Thomas
My condolences go to the thomas family. Rest easy Tre Thomas

Known as “Tre” to his friends, Thomas attended Natomas-area schools including Rio Tierra Junior High and Natomas High where he played varsity football and basketball.

“Everyone knew and loved Tre,” friend Tori Brown wrote in an e-mail message to THE NATOMAS BUZZ from her home in Los Angeles. “He has been a part of the Natomas community since his birth.”

The Sacramento Police Department and Sacramento Coroner’s Office investigations are ongoing.
