Westlake Charter Wins Candy Buy Back

Westlake Charter School won the 6th annual Children’s Choice Pediatric Dental Care “Candy Buy Back Battle of the Schools – for the third year in a row.

The Children’s Choice office location in Natomas along bought back 638 pounds of candy, said spokesperson Alina Kozhenevsky. The pediatric dental practice will donate $238 to Westlake Charter School, matching the $2 for every pound brought in by students from the school, she said. 

Each year, children are encouraged to turn their Halloween candy into cash. For every pound of candy turned in, the pediatric dentist office gave out $4 – $2 to the person who brought in the candy and $2 to be donated to the school that turned in the most sweets.
