“Why is Sorento/East Levee Road closed to through traffic at W. Elkhorn Boulevard?” -anonymous reader via e-mail
Sarah Novo, Director of Constituent Affairs for Councilmember Angelique Ashby answers:
Valley View Acres worked very closely with the city and advocated for closure of through traffic down Sorento Road (from East Levee Road) many years ago due to serious safety concerns, namely high speed traffic barreling down Sorento and other Valley View Acres streets as a cut through to Del Paso.
Cut-through traffic has been, and still is, a major concern for Valley View Acres residents – most recently with the East Natomas Education Complex proposal and their examination of several access points, including one on Sorento.
The road closure was after Natomas Boulevard connected Del Paso Road and Elkhorn Boulevard.
