Cameras Catch Natomas Suspect

The Sacramento Police Department reports surveillance footage helped identify and lead to the arrest of a Natomas burglary suspect caught on camera.

On Dec. 20 at 1 p.m. the suspect was seen, on recorded video, leaving a home near Natomas Boulevard and Club Center Drive. The suspect knocked on the front door and when there was no answer, he forced entry from the rear of the house but fled when the house alarm was activated.

A press release sent out by Sac PD nine days later included a photograph detectives obtained from surveillance footage. Based on a community tip, the suspect was identified and an investigation determined he could be responsible for five separate burglaries in Natomas.

On April 7 Raymond Newcomb Jr., 23, was arrested. Sacramento police say the crimes likely would have remained unsolved and Newcomb would have gotten away with multiple burglaries without the surveillance footage.
