School Raises $1,000 With Box Tops

PLASTIC BAGS FILLED WITH 50 GENERAL MILLS BOX TOPS EACH = $615
Heron School has collected 10,000-plus General Mills box tops which translates to more than $1,000 for the Natomas school.

The Parent Teacher Student Association at the K-8 campus will hold their next collection on Tuesday. Already, 6,150 of the labels have been collected (see photo) – an increase of over 132% from last year and the year isn’t over yet!

Each Box Top is valued at 10 cents or more and can be redeemed to General Mills for cash. Box Tops are found on select General Mills products.
Money the Heron PTSA has raised from the Box Tops program and other fundraising efforts has sponsored programs such as Challenge Day, Family Reading Night, STAR testing breakfasts, scholarships for overnight field trips, and art programs.

The Heron PTSA has also purchased items for the school including a portable sound system, bulletin boards for the gym, master roll copying supplies for the teachers, and hand sanitizer for the school cafeteria.
Schools throughout Natomas also participate in the Box Tops for Education program.
