Third Purse Snatching Reported At Raley’s

Yesterday at 1 p.m. a woman leaving the Raley’s store at 4650 Natomas Boulevard had her purse snatched. This is the third reported purse snatching at the grocer in the past two weeks, as previously reported by THE BUZZ.

According to the daily police update issued by Sac PD Capt. Daniel Hahn, two male suspects ran up behind the victim and took her purse. The suspects then fled on foot north through the parking lot. One suspect was described as male, unknown race, dark complexion, heavy build with a black sweater and short hair.

The two previous purse snatchings occured in the Raley’s produce section. Customers’ purses were grabbed from their shopping carts while they shopped May 1 and May 2. In the second incident, two citizens ran after the suspects who dropped the purse and got into an awaiting Black Honda Accord with two female Asian subjects in the car. The suspects were described as 1. male black adult 16-20 yrs, 5’5″, 180 lbs, shaved head…#2 male black, 16-20 yrs., 5’7″, 200 lbs.

“Raley’s security has been good and they have some video of these occurrences,” reports Hahn. “We are currently following up on some of the leads to hopefully identify who did this. The two above incidents are most likely related and possibly the one from yesterday.”
