North Natomas Finance Plan Passes Unanimously

Sacramento city council members voted unanimously tonight to pass the updated North Natomas Finance Plan. The decision follows months of negotiations to fix the previously flawed plan.

Several Natomas neighborhood leaders worked with developers and city officials, including Mayor Kevin Johnson and City Manager Ray Kerridge, to compromise and balance a finance plan budget based on tangible dollars.

As a result of these efforts, Natomas will get a fire station on the west side of I-5 and its build out will be expedited. In the future, Natomas will also be able to build a police sub-station and other transportation-related projects.

“This advancement was a great success for Natomas and while the NNFP is still not perfect it is much improved from where it was back in October,” says Angelique Ashby, Creekside Neighborhood Association president and Natomas Crime & Safety Leadership Team co-founder. “Definitely cause for celebration as we right the ship and move our region closer to its potential.”
