For A Good Cause: May Is Bike Month

May is Bike Month, the regional effort to ride more and drive less. Our region participates in Million Mile May and logs miles toward a regional goal of a million miles. Last year our region logged 1.2 million miles!

Participate in fun events around our community hosted by the North Natomas Transportation Management Association (TMA):

Thursday, May 21st – Bike to Work Day
Stop on your way to work or while you’re just out for a morning ride, and grab breakfast from us as you go. 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. Truxel Road @ Arco Arena Entrance.

Thursday, May 21st Capitol Bikefest

May is Bike Month – in Schools, Too!

As a local contribution to this effort, the TMA is sponsoring school-based programs at seven sites. Students will track their bicycle trips to and from school, as well as trips just for fun. The students, classrooms and school with the most trips recorded, will be recognized for their achievements. Parents, please encourage your child as they participate in this exciting promotion!

The 2008 school winner was Westlake Charter School. Who will it be this year?
