Help Needed To Bury Natomas Teen

Gerald Abbot attended Inderkum High School in the Natomas Unified School District.

While playing basketball at the Salvation Army Friday night (12/5/08) he collapsed and went into cardiac arrest. Gerald was rushed to the hospital where he later passed on 12/6/08 at 1 a.m.

Gerald leaves behind his twin brother Robert Abbott, mother Shauna (Goldie) Carpenter-Bourland, and grandmother Jalia White. Gerald was an amazing young man, and soon to be father of a boy in March 2009. He will be deeply missed by friends and family.

Gerald’s mother is unemployed and homeless and can not afford to bury her son. If you know of any resources or support for this family please contact the mother Shauna at 534-5968 or grandmother Jalia White 534-2289.

If there is anything you can do to help it will be greatly appreciated.

Donations can also be dropped off at Taco Bell (located @ Del Paso Rd & East Commerce) where Gerald worked at 2921 Advantage Way. Please leave donations with a Manager!

  1. The kids won’t mind giving up a present to help these folks. I wrote a check. Hope others do too.

I can’t think of anything worse than losing your child.
