Seen & Heard About

THE BUZZ spotted several vehicles parked on Creekside neighborhood streets with broken windows, the victims of a new crime series:

3-06-08, 10:30 PM, Vandalism
Multiple locations North Natomas
Residents of North Natomas started calling the non-emergency line around 10:00 PM last night to report their car and house windows shot out by a pellet round. Over 25 cars were vandalized by unknown suspects driving what was described as a 1980’s tan sedan (no further details). Community Service Officers and Beat Officers spent a good portion of their shift investigating this series of crimes.

From Angelique Ashby, President of the Creekside Neighborhood Association:

I am excited to tell all of you two pretty great things:
1 – A Natomas Park resident named John has come forward to offer a $1000.00 reward to anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest and conviction of the vandals responsible for last nights crime spree through North Natomas (over 25 windows shot out of cars all through Creekside and Natomas Park).
What we know so far is that the individual(s) were in a tan 4-door sedan (likely an older model vehicle). They shot pellets/bbs at the windows of cars causing tens of thousands of dollars in damages.
If you have information or know of someone who does and would like to be eligible for the reward call John at 612-2948.
The police non-emergency number is 264-5471.
2 – The next exciting thing I want to tell you is that News 10 is covering the vandalism case and explaining the reward. I was told that the story would likely air at 11pm tonight.
It is great to see the community coming together to provide creative and unique solutions to the issues we are facing in North Natomas.

If you park your vehicle on north area streets, beware.
