3400 block of Summer Park Drive
The police helicopter unit was working with ground units, in the area of San Juan and Truxel, when the aircraft was hit with a laser light from the ground. The helicopter crew was able to guide units into the location where the source of light was coming from. After an escape attempt two suspects were detained. The laser light was located and one person arrested for interfering with the operation of the police helicopter.
2-21-08 at 3:20 a.m., Serious Injury Accident
I-5 off ramp at Del Paso Road
A driver was headed northbound on Interstate 5 and then took the off-ramp at Del Paso Road. The driver ran the stop sign at the top of the ramp and drove out in front of an eastbound commercial truck. The car was hit broadside and the driver seriously injured. The Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation team is handling this incident.
