Fire Burns 20 Acres in North Natomas

A grass fire started burning in north Natomas off Bayou Road and Tarboro Lane, north of Del Paso Road and west of Interstate 5, at about 9 p.m. Monday, June 17. More than five acres have burned and flames are within yards of a tree line. Additional firefighting resources have been request to assist in battling the flames.

At 9:17 p.m. Sac Fire crews still working toward containing the fire.

At 9:39 p.m. Sac Fire crews report flames nearing power lines. Water supplies running low.

At 9:55 p.m. Sac Fire crews report about 20 acres burned, at times the flames were reportedly close to area power lines. Crews now in mop up.

At 10:30 p.m. Vice Mayor Angelique Ashby reports 50 acres burned, fire contained, no structural damage and no injuries.
