Sacramento Police are searching for a man suspected of stabbing his roommate to death last night in Natomas.

At about 10:55 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, police received a 911 call regarding a man who had been stabbed inside of a residential apartment near the 3300 block of Arena Boulevard in Natomas.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was found by responding officers to be suffering from multiple apparent stab wounds. The alleged assailant was quickly identified as the victim’s roommate who had fled from the area prior to police arrival. The Sacramento County Coroner later identified the victim as Zachary Edward Kane, 23, originally from Santa Rosa.

Air support responded to the scene, but officers were unable to locate the suspect.

Paramedics transported the victim to an area hospital where he received emergency medical treatment, but later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
