The Sacramento Police Department seeks participants for upcoming National Night Out events.
National Night Out will be from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4.
National Night Out is a nationwide event aimed at reducing crime and strengthening relationships between neighborhoods and police.
In years past, Natomas residents have come together in several neighborhoods to meet with law enforcement and local government representatives.
Residents and neighborhood groups are encouraged to host block parties, barbecues and ice cream socials.
Paperwork is required to include local law enforcement in a neighborhood event. Forms are due to the Sacramento Police Department by July 24.
