Maschusetts-based NetBrain Technologies Inc. is now hiring for a new office expected to open later this month in Natomas.

The international information technology software manufacturer is based in Burlington, Mass. and has an office in Beijing, China.

Locating in Sacramento, beat out San Jose, according to the Sacramento Area Commerce and Trade Organization or SACTO. Factors considered included cost of housing and office space, proximity to the Silicon Valley, location of colleges with engineering programs, regional skill base and diversity, among others.

“This announcement shows that there are companies that see the region the way we do,” said SACTO senior vice president Bob Burris. “NetBrain opening third location globally in Sacramento, says a lot about the region.”

In addition to the new regional office slated for south Natomas, the growing IT firm also has plans to open offices in Dallas and New York in 2014. The Natomas location will provide sales and support to the Western Region of the United States.

The 4,000 square-foot office is located at 1750 Creekside Oaks Drive, in Suite 205, just north of Garden Highway in Natomas.

NetBrain is currently recruiting for sales representatives and tech support team members for the Natomas office. The company website lists network engineer, entry-level sales engineer and software sales representative positions in Sacramento here.

The company plans to initially hire 12 engineers, sales professionals, and administrative personnel, with longer term plans approaching 20 to 25 employees as they recruit additional sales teams, according to a press release issued Monday afternoon by SACTO.

Founded in 2004, NetBrain manufactures computer-aide network engineering software which discovers network devices, monitors and maps their relationships. Customers include AT&T, British Telecom, Boeing, GE, Caterpillar, the U.S. Army and more.
