Sacramento Vice Mayor Angelique Ashby over the weekend served as a celebrity team captain for the 10th Annual Run for a Safe Haven 5K to benefit My Sister’s House.

The team raised $300, according to their website.

My Sister’s House is a non-profit organization which serves culturally unique needs of Asian Pacific Islander women and children affected by domestic violence and human trafficking in the Central Valley. Proceeds from the 5K run/walk go directly toward stopping domestic violence and providing shelter to victims of domestic violence and human trafficking.

The walk was held on Oct. 26 at William Land Park.
