“Any idea why they have to remove the trees at Natomas Boulevard and Club Center Drive?”

-Traci M. via Facebook

Director of Public Policy Michelle Kille in Vice Mayor Angelique Ashby’s office sent us an answer:

“These have been scheduled to come out as result of a Risk Management claim and Urban Forestry’s assessment. They are Poplar trees that are being removed due to the fact they have penetrated under the sound wall located just behind then and into the backyards of the homes located along that wall at the corner. They’ve broken through folks’ patios.”

“These particular trees are problematic and should not have been initially planted. We will probably see other instances of these specific trees being removed throughout North Natomas as they mature over time.”
