Residents of Brynmar Court in Natomas were given a block party Sunday for winning the District 1 holiday lights contest.
About 50 people attended the festivities which featured a waterslide from Jumps R Us, barbecue hot dogs and cheeseburgers cooked by city Neighborhood Services staff, a face painter and balloon twister from Balloons by Carolyn, and a fire engine.
Each year Brynmar Court residents rally together and coordinate holiday activities. The result: a festive street which has won the District 1 holiday lights competition two years in row.
The block party was the prize for winning the 2012 contest.
