AUBURN – Inderkum High School golfer CJ Spencer shot a 10-over par 82 at the Sac Joaquin Section Division III Boys Golf Tournament at Darkhorse Golf Club in Auburn on Monday.

Inderkum freshmen Adrian Vargas and Rudy Obstaculo from Natomas High School also competed.

Vargas shot a 90 and, like Spencer, birdied the par-four 14th hole.

Vargas was named to the Tri-County Conference all-tournament team on Monday.

Obstaculo shot a 105.

Spencer also shot par on 11 holes on Monday. The junior chose competing in the golf championship over the chance to have football coaches from Colorado State University and Sacramento State watch him in football practice on campus at Inderkum.

“I couldn’t pass this up,” Spencer said.

Vargas shot par on five holes.

None of the three Natomas-area golfers qualified for the Masters next week in Stockton.
