Inderkum High School boys and girls track and field teams defeated Natomas High in the final Tri-County Conference dual meet for both teams at Paul Shimada Stadium at Natomas High on Wednesday.

Inderkum boys won 99-20 and took first in 13 of the 14 events.

The win marked the first time Inderkum boys finished undefeated in league dual meets in school history.

“It feels good right now, but it will feel better if we win league and put a banner up in the gym,” Inderkum coach Rodney Haymer said. “It’s all great that we went undefeated during the league season, but we have to do it when it counts.”

The TCC Track and Field Championships are at River Valley High School on May 9.

Senior Kris Sapp won the 100-meters in a wind-aided 10.46 seconds and the 200 in 22.16.

“It is something I want to continue to work on,” Sapp said. “I know that I am at the top of our league, but I just want to carry that over to Sections and hopefully that will get me as far as possible.”

Sapp is also the anchor on the boys 4×100 relay team with Gabriel Roberson, Kyrie Ayo and Brian Payne that won with a time of 43.32 seconds.

The Inderkum girls beat Natomas High 92-17 behind two individual first place finishes by Jonell Offray, who set a personal record in the 100 (12.16 seconds) and the 400 (68 seconds).

Offray also was a part of the girls 4×100 winning relay team.

Junior Charlie Flournoy won the boys long jump at 19 feet, 2 inches for the Nighthawks. Natomas senior Aalijah Goode won the girls 3200-meter race in 19 minutes, 43 seconds.

The Lady Nighthawks came into the second half of the game with a 1-0 from the original start date after the game was called to darkness.

Inderkum scored twice on goals by Isabella Ochoa and Danielle McCarthy to take a 2-1 lead.

Natomas girls received a penalty kick off a yellow card with just four minutes remaining and sophomore Evelyn Cordero tied the game up 2-2.

Earlier in the day, Natomas High senior defender Stacy Larson announced she would be playing soccer next season at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Arizona.

“I’m really excited because it’s what I’ve always wanted,” Larson said. “I’m just looking forward to playing at a higher level.”

Inderkum finished with a 14-4-4 overall record and 8-0-2 in league games and have not lost a TCC game since an April 22, 2011 loss to Natomas High.
