Both Blockbuster video stores in Natomas will close next month.

The Blockbuster video rental and retail outletslocated at 4670 Natomas Blvd., in the Park Place shopping center on the northeast corner of Natomas Boulevard and Del Paso Road, and 661 San Juan Road in Suite A, in the Gardenland/Northgate area, are scheduled to close permanently on March 24.

The last day to rent and return videos at both locations is Saturday, Feb. 2.

The Natomas stores had reportedly stopped taking applications for monthly, unlimited rentals leading up to the closure announcement. And customers warned by the store’s employees of a possible closure, have been told plans are to liquidate the movie videos and video games inventory.

Signs on the stores’ doors Monday announcing the closure offers customers two months free Blockbuster by-mail rentals or one month free Blue Ticket unlimited rental membership at the 7637 Power Inn Road storelocated more than 16 miles away.
