The Inderkum boys varsity basketball team fell to Folsom High 83-77 in the opening game of the Rocklin Holiday Tournament Thursday afternoon in Rocklin.

The Tigers were in the double bonus throughout the fourth quarter and were unable to keep the Bulldogs from going to the foul line, despite overcoming a 14 point deficit in the second half.

Head coach Rodney Haymer said the Tigers only played “one half of basketball.”

“The biggest thing was we didn’t play the first half,” he said. “We were walking around and it wasn’t inspired and we played soft.”

Trailing 42-32 at the half, Inderkum continually used a good full-court press to keep Folsom running, but in the first half and the first four minutes of the third quarter the Bulldogs were able to find, and make, three-pointers that maintained a continuous double-digit lead over the Tigers.

A four-steal performance led by Lawrence Green in the third quarter ignited a 13-0 run to end the third quarter.

“He is a really defining himself with a role on our team as a defensive stopper,” Haymer said. “He plays hard-nosed defense.”

But after tying the game at 64-64 in the fourth, the foul troubled Tigers put Folsom at the free-throw line 14 times in the last four minutes.

Terrence White led the Tigers with 27 points. Quentin Davis had 13 points and Andrew Ignont scored 11 points. And in just his third game for the Tigers, senior transfer from Folsom, Seth Just scored 13 points, but fouled out in the fourth quarter.

The Tigers will play Weston Ranch High of Stockton Friday at 5:30 p.m. and Whitney on Saturday at 2 p.m. as part of the six-team, three-day tournament in Rocklin.
