After dropping the first game of the Rocklin Holiday Classic against Folsom, the Inderkum boys varsity basketball team won the final two games of the tournament, including a highly-contested 73-61 victory over Whitney on Saturday afternoon.

Despite some heated discussions between Inderkum coaching staff and referees in the third quarter, which resulted in two technical fouls against the coaches within a two-minute span, Inderkum (5-2) led by at least 10 points throughout the second half.

The Tigers also scored the first nine points of the game before Whitney came back to get within one point at 18-17 early in the second quarter. The Tigers scored 17 consecutive points en route to a 35-19 halftime lead.

Terrence White and Seth Just were named all-tournament, after leading the Tigers to a 2-1 record in the three-day round-robin tournament.

White scored a combined 62 points in the tournament and Just finished the game against Whitney with 11 points, six rebounds and six steals.

The Tigers went as White went in the first two games as the junior scored 50 points in the first two games. But on Saturday, four players scored in double figures on Saturday and Quentin Davis scored nine points in the win.

Samer Dhillon registered a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. White once again led Inderkum in scoring with 12 points and junior LD Dhaliwal scored 11, including nine in the fourth quarter.

“It was nice how everyone stepped up and played their role and we got the ‘W,’” Dhaliwal said.

The Tigers will not play a game this coming week with finals coming before winter break. But they will travel to Reno to participate in the Nugget Rail City Classic next weekend.
