Thanks for posting this flyer in the buzz. Very excited about next years pageant. The girls will be assigned to teams lead by adult mentors. Each team will have a service project to perform between September 2012 and May 2013. For instance, we have a team working on a bullying campaign, another team working on nutrition and health, one group working on civic engagement, and two (2)teams working on entrepreneurship. Thus far we have 9 girls representing, Inderkum, Natomas HS, and Sac HS. We have one middle school age girl from Elk Grove Unified. The other criteria in which the girls will be judged are grades, leadership, and community service centered around attendance at monthly workshops as well as the team projects, all of which they will be judged on at the pageant. We are looking for teens to perform at the pageant and venue possibilities. Scholarship award will be $500. Our next workshop/event is September 29, 2012 at the South Natomas Library, noon to 3pm, open to any teen ages 11-24. The topic will be nutrition. We also have NUSD Superintendent Evans scheduled for a youth forum on December 15, 2012 at the same location, noon to 3pm. Thanks for your continued support.
