Law enforcement busted a marijuana grow house in Natomas this morning – just blocks from a second grow house discovered less than two weeks ago.

At about 7 a.m. today, August 13 Sacramento County Sheriff deputies descended on a home located on the 2200 block of Burberry Way, on the corner of Gracen Way.

“We got information that a home there had a marijuana grow in it,” said Deputy Jason Ramos, Sacramento County Sheriff’s Dept. spokesman. “We developed some intelligence and wrote a search warrant and that is what was served.”

Witnesses described seeing more than a dozen unmarked vehicles and deputies outfitted with masks and helmets, guns drawn. No one was home at the time of the raid and no arrests were made.

“We did discover evidence of a marijuana grow on the property,” Ramos said.

The Sheriff’s Dept. determined that power was being diverted via bypass, stolen from another location, to the house.

Five rooms in the residence were being used to grow marijuana and several other rooms were used for storage and fertilizers.

Deputies recovered 359 plants and 325 grams of processed marijuana from the scene. Street value: approximately $400,000.

Just blocks away, Sacramento Fire Dept. crews responding to a house fire call on August 3 discovered a marijuana grow house on the 5400 block of Boswell Way. That home was not occupied at the time of the small fire.

Both houses are located in the Natomas Park neighborhood.
