Natomas Will Break Ground On New Baseball Complex

Ground is scheduled to break on the much-anticipated $5.6 million North Natomas Regional Park baseball field project on Saturday, June 16.

This phase of the regional park will be located at the corner of New Market Drive and Via Ingoglia Way and and include amenities such as:

• One Little League Field
• One Youth Softball Field
• One Senior Baseball Field
• Group Picnic Area with Shade Structure and Group Grill
• Parking Lot (164 Stalls with Automatic Locking Gates)
• Adventure Area Playground
• Water Mister Area
• Low Water Maintenance Landscaping and Trees
• Walkways
• Site Furniture (benches, picnic tables, bleachers, trash receptacles, bike rack)

Construction of the baseball field project is scheduled to be complete in time for the 2013 spring baseball season.

The North Natomas Regional Park will become the new home of the North Natomas Little League and is expected to draw some 200,000 visitors per year. The North Natomas Little League serves over 1,000 young people in the Natomas area.

Ground-breaking festivities, hosted by Vice Mayor Angelique Ashby, are scheduled to start 11 a.m. on June 16 and will include speakers and light refreshments.
