A group of Natomas High School teachers have staged peaceful protests every morning for the past week in front of the school along a section of San Juan Road.

Rain did not deter teachers and students who joined them today, March 14 carrying signs and passing out flyers about cuts to education programs.

The goal, protestors said: to increase public involvement in public education.

“It seems like the board isn’t listening to our teachers anymore. So we have resorted to civil disobedience to tell the board that we are living students, directly affected by their poor governing,” said Natalie Saldana, senior class president.

The Natomas Unified school board meets 7 p.m. tonight in the Natomas High School theater, 3301 Fong Ranch Road.
