For The Kids: Youth Summit Saturday

“Powerful Youth of Tomorrow Summit” will be held Saturday, March 24 at the South Natomas Library & Community Center.

Lights of Tomorrow is hosting the daylong event in partnership with the American Heart Association and South Natomas Sacramento Public Library branch in an effort to empower families and teach them skills needed to create healthier choices at home and work.

Parents and youth who attend the summit will learn about health risks, preparing healthy meals, identifying jobs, and protecting themselves in their communities. Other event highlights include:

  • Heart healthy chef food demonstration
  • FREE Health screenings
  • Career and job search experts
  • Youth and adult panels on “Knowing Your Rights” and “STDs”
  • Youth dancers, vocalists, poets and Miss Natomas

The summit is meant to engage parents and youth ages 11-24 in to reduce health risks and improve quality of life.
