Motorists can expect eastbound and westbound lane closures this week on Interstate 80 from the Sacramento River to Watt Avenue over crossing from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday while a contractor performs paving and striping work.
The work is part of a $133.3 million multiphase project to construct about 10 miles of bus and carpool lanes in both directions of Interstate 80.
The project includes repaving the highway from West El Camino Avenue to the Watt Avenue over crossing and adding approximately one mile of new auxiliary lanes from West El Camino Avenue to the Interstate 80 and Interstate 5 interchange.
Work is scheduled for completion by late 2014.
