Missing Natomas Teen Now Considered A Runaway

Sacramento police have reclassified missing Natomas teen Sergio Jimenez as a runaway.

Jimenez, who was reported missing more than a week ago, was spotted last night at a Walmart store in Yuba City by a family member.

According to police, the family member had a brief conversation with the 17-year-old who then walked away. Sacramento police retrieved video surveillance footage from the store and Jimenez’s aunt, his legal guardian, positively identified the youth in the video as her nephew.

Police officers and missing persons detectives canvassed the Yuba City area, specifically the shopping center where Jimenez was last seen. Numerous employees from local businesses said they recognized Jimenez’s photo and reported seeing him in and out of their stores for the past several days.


At this time, police consider Jimenez a runaway. He is believed to be in good health and there is no evidence of duress.

The Yuba City Police Department who will continue to search the area for Jimenez in hopes of contacting him.
