The Boy Scouts of America celebrated the red, white and blue during an “Eternal Flame Weekend” held Oct. 7-9 in Natomas.

The annual event held at Camp Pollock, off Northgate Boulevard and Garden Highway, drew about 300 Scouts of all ages from greater Sacramento-area troops and packs.

Weekend events included a naturalization ceremony during which two dozen new United States Citizens were sworn in and more than 1,000 flags retired. Members of Troop No. 447 and Pack No. 402, both of Natomas, were among the participants.

The weekend also included several activities and overnight camping for Scouts.
